The heart of this authentic Supernaked is the new 1,099cc inline-four engine. An increase in stroke gives the Z1100 more torque than its predecessor. Thanks to new throttle bodies, intake ports, and camshaft profiles, the Z1100 delivers the bulk of its power in the low and mid-range, precisely where riders can make the most of its raw power. A heavier flywheel and revised gear ratios improve rideability.
New electronically controlled throttle valves ensure a more precise throttle response and smooth throttle acceptance. This innovation also enables the addition of an Up/Down Quickshifter, Cruise Control, and Traction Control. The selectable Sport, Road, and Rain riding modes allow the rider to easily choose the right combination of power and Traction Control. For hardcore riders looking for a pure, unfiltered riding experience, there is the configurable Rider mode, in which Traction Control can be disabled, for example.
Thanks to a new six-axis IMU, the ABS operates depending on the lean angle, and Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF) is now also available. This groundbreaking system monitors parameters when entering, apexing, and exiting a corner and modulates braking force and power delivery to help riders maintain their intended line.
When you get on the new Z1100, you are immediately placed in an active riding position without it becoming uncomfortable. For optimal control, the Z1100 is equipped with a new handlebar that is 22mm wider and positioned 13mm further forward for more feel and easier maneuvering. From the saddle, the rider looks out onto a completely new 5" TFT color display with turn-by-turn navigation and voice control via the Rideology App*. The display can be changed between two layouts. Layout 1 displays all important information in a modern way, while layout 2 features a tilt angle indicator, which is perfect for sporty rides.
The design of the Z1100 is a continuation of the iconic Sugomi design of its predecessor. With its low headstock, piercing LED headlights, and high-rising tail, the design is reminiscent of a predator ready to pounce, even when stationary. New elements in the design include the underbody with fins and the revised windshield, which now offers better protection for the new TFT display.
To top it all off, an SE version is available. The Z1100 SE is instantly recognizable by its unique color scheme with gold suspension struts and is equipped with radially mounted Brembo monobloc brake calipers and Brembo discs, plus steel braided brake lines. At the rear is an Öhlins S46 rear shock absorber with external spring preload adjuster, which takes handling to an even higher level.
The new Z1100 is available from €13,199 and the Z1100 SE from €14,999. These models will be in our showroom in mid-October!
