The BMW R 1300 RS: The new sports tourer with boxer engine, featuring sophisticated technology and design, offering a more dynamic riding experience.

“With the new BMW R 1300 RS, we have taken our sports touring motorcycle with boxer engine to a whole new level. The motorcycle has been designed with dynamic riding in mind. Thanks to a completely new engine, chassis, and aerodynamic concept, it offers an even sportier riding experience than its predecessor. At the same time, it remains the perfect companion for comfortable touring and long-distance travel.”

The new BMW R 1300 RS: The new sport tourer with boxer engine, featuring sophisticated technology and styling, together with a dynamic design that exudes sporty flair. Four attractive model variants.

The goal behind the development of the new BMW R 1300 RS was to achieve both a visual and technical improvement of the sports touring motorcycle with boxer engine. In addition to the much sportier design, equipment features such as the Performance variant – including sports suspension, a sports suspension, short handles, milled and adjustable footrests, DTC Shift, two additional windshields, sports buddy seat, engine spoiler, and sports tires – allow customers to further increase the dynamic potential of the motorcycle. At the same time, the BMW R 1300 RS remains a capable companion for everyday use and touring, and with options such as buddy seat heating, Riding Assistant, a higher windshield, and a variety of luggage options, the motorcycle can be perfectly tailored to individual needs. In addition to the base version in Racing Blue metallic, the BMW R 1300 RS is also available as the Triple Black model variant in Blackstorm metallic, the sport-oriented Performance variant in Lightwhite uni, and the premium Option 719 Cuyamaca variant in Brooklyn Grey metallic.

Sporty ergonomics and equipment for both dynamic riding pleasure on country roads and comfortable touring and traveling.

The developers at BMW Motorrad aimed to make the new BMW R 1300 RS significantly more dynamic and sporty than its predecessor – a goal that the new sports tourer with boxer engine fulfills not only in terms of design, engine, and chassis: great importance was also attached to ergonomics, with a focus on creating a sportier, more active riding position.

The ergonomic triangle formed by the handlebars, footrests, and seat on the new R 1300 RS is designed to position the rider noticeably further forward over the front wheel thanks to slightly rearward-mounted footrests and flatter handlebars. The result is improved front-end response, especially during sporty
riding, and therefore even greater controllability. At the same time, the sporty seating position still allows for relaxed touring and traveling, even with a passenger. For a more touring-oriented riding position, optional comfort handlebars are also available. Various buddy seat options and comfort handlebars ensure an optimized seating position. With electrically operated panniers and top case, together with a smart tank bag, a new luggage system ensures a comfortable experience during extended touring and vacation trips.

Since the introduction of the BMW R 100 RS in 1976, BMW RS models with boxer engines have built a legendary reputation for perfectly combining sporty riding, the thrill of cornering, and comfortable touring. For this reason, the new BMW R 1300 RS not only offers a new luggage system, but also a wide range of seat variants and optional comfort handlebars to meet the individual ergonomic needs of all riders. In addition to the standard buddy seat, five others are available as individual optional equipment ex works. For touring and vacation trips, the new BMW R 1300 RS can be equipped ex-factory with pannier holders and a top case carrier, while a newly developed pannier system and top case are available as part of the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories range. The panniers offer a capacity of 26 and 29 liters respectively, while the top case holds 39 liters. The two panniers and the
top case are electrically operated and can be unlocked with the central locking system. Both the panniers and the top case are equipped with interior lighting, while the left pannier and the top case also feature a USB-C charging port. The tank bag is also new. For the first time, it is completely strap-free and is attached to the motorcycle via a tank ring.
