BMW Motorrad presents the new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR

"With significantly more extensive standard equipment, a fully adjustable upside-down front fork, lighter wheels, and a weight reduction of 3 kilograms, we have further refined the BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR. In addition, the new BMW F 900 R benefits from a sportier seating position and the BMW F 900 XR from optimized aerodynamics." Anton Huber, Project Manager

Technical and visual upgrades and significantly more extensive standard equipment for the dynamic roadster and the mid-range long-distance sports car.

With the new dynamic roadster BMW F 900 R and the new crossover bike F 900 XR, BMW Motorrad is taking its product range for the popular mid-range segment to a new level. Both F models impress with their sportiness and riding pleasure on winding roads, now offer even more agile handling, and are suitable for experienced riders as well as newcomers and those returning to motorcycling. While the new BMW F 900 R as a dynamic roadster is primarily focused on sporty riding pleasure, the BMW F 900 XR has everything it takes to be a reliable partner on longer trips and vacation journeys with luggage.

Powerful two-cylinder in-line engine with Euro 5+ homologation. "Dynamic" riding mode with sportier settings, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and engine brake control (MSR) now standard. New sports exhaust silencer developed in collaboration with Akrapovič as an original BMW Motorrad accessory.

In the new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR, the proven 895 cc twin-cylinder in-line engine with 77 kW (105 hp) and a full torque curve in the current Euro 5+ homologation ensures enjoyable riding dynamics. With the newly tuned standard "Dynamic" riding mode, the two new F models offer even more riding pleasure and dynamics for a sporty riding style. The standard Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) ensures optimum safety when accelerating. The engine brake control (MSR) is also standard. This prevents the rear wheel from slipping or bouncing when abruptly throttling back or downshifting, ensuring even greater safety.

The distinctive sound of the two-cylinder engine is even more powerful with the new sports silencer (available as an original BMW Motorrad accessory, developed in collaboration with Akrapovič), which also offers a weight saving of around 1.2 kg.

New upside-down telescopic fork with adjustable compression and rebound damping and spring preload. New wheels that are approximately 1.8 kg lighter. BMW Motorrad ABS Pro and Dynamic Brake Control DBC as standard – for even greater safety when braking.

Both the new BMW F 900 R and the new BMW F 900 XR feature a new, torsion-resistant upside-down telescopic fork with a diameter of 43 mm for front wheel guidance.

  1. The compression and rebound damping and the spring preload are now adjustable. This allows for ideal adjustment according to personal preferences.

In addition, the new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR are equipped with new 17-inch cast aluminum wheels. In total, they are approximately 1.8 kg lighter than their predecessors, contributing significantly to the reduction in total weight of 3 kg.

Another new feature of the standard equipment on the new F models is BMW Motorrad ABS Pro. Unlike BMW Motorrad ABS, ABS Pro goes one step further and offers even greater safety when braking in corners by enabling ABS-supported braking at an incline.

As another standard safety feature, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) provides even greater safety when braking, even in difficult situations, by preventing unintentional acceleration.

Standard new, 0.8 kg lighter battery and function-integrated turn signals in the new rear end. BMW F 900 XR comes standard with Headlight Pro including daytime running lights, adaptive cornering lights, USB-C charging port, and heated grips. The two new models in the F series are each equipped with a new, 0.8 kg lighter battery. They also have a new rear section with integrated turn signals.

The new BMW F 900 XR comes standard with Headlight Pro, including daytime running lights and adaptive cornering lights for even greater safety when riding at night. Other standard new features of the BMW F 900 XR include a USB-C charging port on the right side of the dashboard with a charging current of up to 2.4 A and heated grips.

BMW F 900 R with optimized ergonomics thanks to newly defined handlebar and footrest positions for a sporty seating position. New headlight side panel painted in body color. The ergonomics triangle of handlebars, seat, and footrests on the new BMW F 900 R has been revised in the area of the handlebar, footrest, and foot pedal positions. This has resulted in a significantly sportier and more front-wheel-oriented seating position.

The enhanced sporting ambitions of the new BMW F 900 R are emphasized by the headlight side covers, which are painted in the respective body color.

BMW F 900 XR with optimized aerodynamics and standard hand protection.

The new BMW F 900 XR offers even more touring and long-distance comfort thanks to optimized aerodynamics at the front. The newly designed wind deflector reduces wind pressure on the rider, resulting in significantly less helmet vibration and thus even greater riding comfort. Improved wind and weather protection is also provided by the standard hand protection in all equipment variants.
