Kawasaki introduces the all-new Versys 900. With a 948 cc four-cylinder engine, a new chassis, and modern rider-assistance systems, the Versys family welcomes a sporty new model. At the same time, the Versys 900 remains focused on comfort and long rides, whether you’re riding alone or hitting the road with a passenger and luggage.
The four-cylinder engine delivers 122 pk and 97.3 Nm of torque. The engine is based on the Kawasaki Z900’s, but has been adapted to suit the Versys’s character. It accelerates smoothly at low RPMs and continues to pull strongly even at higher RPMs. An up/down Quick Shifter comes standard, allowing you to shift gears starting at 1,500 RPM without using the clutch.
Sporty handling, comfortable cruising
Kawasaki developed a new steel trellis frame for the Versys 900. Combined with the sporty steering geometry and adjustable SHOWA suspension, this ensures responsive handling and stability. The 17-inch wheels with Metzeler ROADTEC 01 tires and the powerful radial brakes round out its sporty character.
A great deal of attention has also been paid to the electronics. The Versys 900 features various riding modes, adjustable Power Modes, and Kawasaki Traction Control. Thanks to the six-axis IMU, the ABS is calibrated to the bike’s lean angle.
Also new are the radar-based driver-assistance systems. Adaptive Cruise Control Lite helps maintain the set distance from the vehicle ahead, while Forward Collision Warning alerts you to an impending collision. Blind Spot Detection also alerts you to traffic in your blind spot.
Ready for Long Rides
Despite its sporty character, the Versys 900 is designed for comfortable riding. The upright riding position, the seven-position adjustable windshield, and the 20-liter fuel tank make it ideal for longer rides. The seat height can be adjusted tool-free between 825 and 845 mm.
The new 5-inch TFT color display shows all important information and, through the Kawasaki RIDEOLOGY app, provides access to features such as turn-by-turn navigation. A USB-C port is also included as standard.
If you like to travel with luggage, you can opt for the optional side cases, which have a combined capacity of 64 liters, and a top case with a capacity of 47 liters. This provides plenty of space for your belongings during a weekend getaway or a longer motorcycle trip.
Versys 900 SE
In addition to the standard model, the Versys 900 is also available in an SE version. This version comes standard with features such as LED fog lights, heated grips, hand guards, a radiator guard, frame sliders, a belly pan, and a center stand.
Both models are also available in a 70-kW version that can be reduced to 35 kW for riders with an A2 or Code 80 license.
The 2027 Kawasaki Versys 900 and Versys 900 SE are expected to arrive at official Kawasaki dealers in mid-March. Prices will be announced at a later date.
